Acupressure Points

Using acupressure is something every massage therapist learns a little bit about in school. There are points for things like how to cure the hiccups all the way to putting you into labor. Here are some good ones that I like and have really helped me on occasion. Try them out next time you have the symptoms:

  • For Nausea. Place your right thumb on the inside of your left forearm three finger-widths from the center of your wrist crease. Apply firm pressure with your thumb for a minute, placing your fingertips directly behind your wrist as you take long, deep breaths. Then place your thumb two finger-widths from your wrist crease and apply pressure for another minute. When you’re done, do the same to the other wrist.
  • Sinus Pain & Congestion. Gently press underneath both cheekbones beside your nose with your middle and index fingers, angling the pressure upward. Breathe deeply as you hold these points for two minutes.
  • Foot Cramps, Headaches, and Eye Fatigue. With bare feet, use your right heel to rub in between the bones on the top of your left foot for one minute. Make sure to stimulate the sensitive spots between your big and second toes as well as those between the bones connecting your fourth and little toes. When ready, switch and work on the other foot.

These are just a few of tons of cool things to try. Let me know if any of them work for you!
