Working from Home
There are lots of advantages to having your office in your home:
- Tax advantages
- Making your own hours
- Not paying rent for another office…
All of a sudden your new washer and dryer are a write-off. Everyone wants clean sheets!
There are also lots of disadvantages though. Let’s look at some of these. First, your privacy isn’t so private anymore.
If you want to run a successful business you must make sure that your house is always clean.
People will just start to stop by, sometimes these aren’t the people you want to keep as clients. People have a hard time deciding what is appropriate like, how long to hang out and talk after the session, you will also see that people don’t tip as well as they would in an office outside the home. Especially if someone besides you is checking them in and out. This is the best way to insure gratuity. You’ll have to keep your pets safe and away from the clients, due to allergies a lot of clients won’t come if there are pets on the premises.
All in all, both sides can be great! Make sure to keep yourself and your client safe no matter what your choice!

Great post, Willow. The problems of working from home cross industries, and I think anyone that is going to try to make it work really needs to make sure that they prepare their home for business. This are some great tips on where to begin.
